Beatles - The River Rhine Tapes

Good stuff in fantastic quality records from the Let It Be and Get Back sessions coming your way, so watch out! This time you get the whole thing without the endless beatle bickering that we grow so depressingly accustomed with. In my opinion these versions are just as valid as the official releases. George Harrison's skills in song writing are revealed here more than ever, giving people of taste of post Beatles George.
This one was delivered by Jordan L, many, many thanks for this, J, you're the man!

Janis Joplin - Live in Honolulu, 08-06-1970

This performance is exciting and Janis & the Full Tilt Boogie Band serve up one stormin' set. It is obvious that Janis is either drunk and stoned, or both. The in between song banter shows Janis getting the crowd riled up by asking them if they are ready to rock. The crowd is crazy during this show and the announcer is constantly telling them to settle down and take their seats. At one point Janis tells the guy " Hey...I'll be responsible for any damage so split!" The crowd cheers and she then states "You figure out what it costs and I'll pay for it." Many Joplin staples are here like a groovy version of "Summertime" and even some songs off her Kozmic Blues album like "Maybe" and Kozmic Blues." At the end of the show you can hear the crowd almost tearing the place apart as they cheer for more and stomp their feet. Little did they know that Janis had already left and was off into the Hawaiian night.

The Beatles - Rooftop Concert 30-01-1969

Hello, everybody, I'm back from London and I am keen on posting more goodies. I only see it fit to start with the infamous Rooftop Concert. The Beatles' celebrated rooftop show. An idea conceived during a meeting on 26 January, it was the first of two consecutive Beatles/Billy Preston performances which concluded the Get Back project, for on 31 January they ran through numbers inside the basement studio. This day's work has passed into history as the Beatles' last live performance, even if it couldn't be classified as a concert. The 42-minute show (about half of which comprises the sensational close to the Let It Be film) was a lunchtime blast into the cold wind - imagine a high London rooftop in January - that brought part of the capital to a standstill, until the police, in turn, brought the show to an enforced conclusion.
A great recording to hear over and over again for those who already have it and a great find for those who never heard it before. To be honest, I envy those who are listening to it for the very first time...
Please make note of the fact that this is a well known bootleg :)

Jethro Tull - Merryweather Pavillion, 21-06-1988

I'll be in London for a while, so I am suplying you with one more gem. I didn't posted much lately, I am really pissed at a courier company that took my iMac... I wanted to sell it to get a new one and I used these bastards to transport it. Guess what? The "buyer" took my iMac without giving them the money, ergo I didn't get the money. Can you fucking believe it? Well, I will see them in a court of law. So I'm posting from my MBP now.
Back to the real thing:
Here's a good Jethro Tull bootleg, quite unique if you're asking me. Then again Tull is a unique band.

Steven Stills and Neil Young - Providence RI, 07-07-1976

This is the Stills-Young Band, recorded live at Providence Civic Center Providence, RI 07 July 1976. The show was taped by taped by Dan Lampinski
Dan Lampinski recorded over 100 concerts in the Providence/Boston area, mostly between 1974 and 1978. His earliest recordings were made with an internal microphone deck, and though they are somewhat lo-fi compared to his later work, some very great moments in rock history were captured for posterity. In late 1974 he bought a Sony TC-152SD tape recorder, a Sony ECM-99 stereo microphone, and began using Maxell cassettes. He was also fortunate enough to have a friend who provided excellent taping seats for many shows, resulting in high quality recordings. In 1977, he switched over to a Nakamichi 550 tape recorder, two Nakamichi CM-300 microphones, and continued using Maxell cassettes.
He recorded many of the major 70's bands: Yes, Genesis, Pink Floyd, Queen, Blue Oyster Cult, Frank Zappa, Jethro Tull, ELP, Kiss, Black Sabbath, The Who, Al Stewart, Alice Cooper, Jeff Beck, Bruce Springsteen, Supertramp, Jean-Luc Ponty, Moody Blues, Neil Young, The Faces, Rush, Rick Wakeman, Kansas, as well as several "under the radar" acts.
Since Dan never traded copies of his recordings, they are all essentially uncirculated. Some copies were made for friends, but these releases are the first time most of these recordings have ever seen the light of day, and are direct from his master cassettes. No EQ'ing has been done to any of the transfers. Feel free to EQ, matrix, patch, etc and re-post if you like, just give Dan credit for the original recording.
Dan was very meticulous about taking good care of his tapes and is very pleased that these recordings will now circulate among the trading community. Please honour his kindness and generosity by sharing these recordings freely.

Always remember - the more generous you are with your music, the more it comes back to you.
